As district leaders considered staff feedback alongside that vision for students, an important question began to emerge:

Monett Schools currently follows a traditional academic calendar of approximately 180 school days, generally running from late August through May.

As part of this exploration, the district is studying whether approximately 150 academic days, combined with a different structure for intervention, enrichment, professional learning, and other student opportunities, could allow time to be used differently.

The 150-day calendar is not the goal. It is one option being studied as Monett Schools considers how time could be structured to create additional opportunities for students.
