The Monett R-1 School District is pleased to announce that Dr. Isaac Sooter has been selected as the district's next Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Sooter, who has been serving Monett Schools since July 1, 2023, brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to student success.
Dr. Sooter joins the district's leadership team with over a decade of administrative experience, including nine years as the principal of Reeds Spring Schools and three years as the assistant principal. His leadership background and passion for educational excellence make him a valuable asset to Monett R-1 as the district continues to grow and innovate.
"Dr. Sooter has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to student learning during his time in Monett," said Dr. Mark Drake, Superintendent of Monett R-1 Schools. "We are excited to have him step into this role and continue serving our students, staff, and community.
Dr. Sooter earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Evangel University and his Master’s in Education Administration from William Woods University. He further advanced his expertise by earning a Specialist Degree and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University. In addition to his leadership roles, Dr. Sooter serves as an adjunct professor at William Woods University, where he helps prepare future educators for success.

Dr. Sooter will officially assume the role of Assistant Superintendent on July 1, 2025, following the retirement of Dr. Melissa Huff.
