Dear Monett Intermediate School Parents,
Missouri Law (Section 180.045, RSMo) requires education for students 6th-12th grade related to safety. Desiree Breidenstein the Community Outreach Coordinator from the Children’s Center will be presenting: Teen Safety Matters, an evidence based prevention education curriculum designed to promote, educate, and protect children as well as teens from all types of bullying, abuse, and victimization.
Lesson 1 will take place December 14, 15, and 16.
Lesson 2 will take place January 25, 26, and 27.
Lesson 1 topics: Cyberbullying, online exploitation, digital safety and digital citizenship, and 5 safety rules designed to keep teens safe.
Lesson 2 topics: Physical Safety and unsafe situations, different types of abuse, the danger of human trafficking, the 5 safety rules designed to keep teens safe.
