Monett R-1 School District (“Monett”) is providing notice of a recent event that may have affected the privacy of personal information related to certain individuals in our schools. The information involved in these events may include data related to current and former employees, as well as some student data.

PowerSchool, a software vendor utilized by Monett, recently experienced a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain information stored by PowerSchool in the PowerSchool Information System (SIS). We understand that PowerSchool plans to send an email communication to all individuals with email addresses maintained in the SIS system regarding the incident.

PowerSchool is also providing complimentary Experian credit monitoring and identity protection services for educators and students. This offer is available to Monett staff members, students, and their families whether they receive an email directly from PowerSchool or not.
