Jessica McNichols High School Principal

The Monett R-1 School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica McNichols as the next Principal of Monett High School, effective July 1, 2025. This appointment follows the promotion of Dr. Isaac Sooter to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the 2025-2026 school year.  

Mrs. McNichols has served as the Assistant Principal at Monett High School since 2023. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Evangel University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. Prior to joining Monett High School, Mrs. McNichols has taught in the Reeds Spring School District, Lockwood School District, and Springfield Public Schools. She has served as a physical education teacher, Adapted PE teacher, and Title I math teacher. She also coached girls' basketball and held the position of Athletic Director at Lockwood Schools.

Mrs. McNichols' leadership experience, coupled with her commitment to student success and fostering meaningful relationships, will play a key role in advancing Monett High School's mission. As Principal, she is committed to building a collaborative and safe learning culture that emphasizes academic achievement and the development of the whole student.

Dr. Mark Drake, Superintendent of Monett R-1 Schools, stated “Jessica McNichols has demonstrated a deep commitment to our students and staff. Her experience, passion, and student-centered approach make her the right leader to continue the positive momentum at the Monett High School. We are excited to see the great things she will accomplish in this new role.” 

Jessica McNichols will officially begin her duties as Principal of Monett High School on July 1, 2025.
