James Fitzgearlds

James Fitzgearlds has been appointed as the next Assistant Principal of Monett High School, succeeding Jessica McNichols, who is transitioning to the role of High School Principal. With a decade of experience, Fitzgearlds brings a deep commitment to student success and a strong background in leadership to his new role. 

James Fitzgearlds earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Pittsburg State University, followed by a Master’s degree and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from William Woods University. His passion for education has been evident throughout his ten years of teaching Special Education. He taught in Mt. Vernon for two years and the last eight years in Monett. 

In addition to his teaching experience, James Fitzgearlds has served as the Summer School Coordinator at Monett High School for the past four years, ensuring students have continued opportunities for growth. His leadership extends to athletics, where he has coached football, baseball, and girls' golf, helping student-athletes develop skills both on and off the field.

“I went into education because I enjoy helping students grow and succeed,” said James Fitzgearlds. “Seeing them overcome challenges and gain confidence is incredibly rewarding. I am excited to step into this new role and continue supporting the students, staff, and families of Monett High School.”

James Fitzgearlds will officially begin his role as Assistant Principal for the 2025-2026 school year on July 1, 2025.
