No. The model being explored is not a traditional four-day school week.

Yes. The calendar concept being explored continues to include traditional Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break periods.

The school year would begin around the same time it typically does now, in August, and the regular academic year would end at the end of April.

Under the potential 150-day calendar, the regular school year would end on the last school day in April, and summer school would begin right after.

May would include opportunities for academic support, intervention, enrichment, and extended learning. Transportation and meals would be provided for participating students.

Some May summer school programs may be required for students who need additional academic support, while other opportunities may be optional. Specific participation requirements are still being developed and will be shared with families as planning continues.

Bus transportation would be provided for students participating in May summer school. Students would also receive free meals during summer school.

A final recommendation is expected to go to the Board of Education in spring 2027. The Board will then consider whether to approve the proposed calendar. If approved, the new calendar could begin in August 2027.
