Students in preschool had a special Thanksgiving lesson today. They had pie, learned about Thanksgiving, and made pilgrim hats. 🦃
Students in Ms. Childress' class read the book "Duck for Turkey Day." The book is about how not everyone has the same Thanksgiving traditions, and it is okay because this is what makes everyone unique. All of her students had the opportunity to share their own Thanksgiving traditions during class. What are your Thanksgiving traditions?
The Monett Theatre Dept. presented a theatrical work called "All Together Now." MMS and MHS students worked very hard to prepare and give an outstanding performance! They featured songs from the Broadway Musicals, such as "Beauty and the Beast," "Annie, "Newsies," Hairspray," and many more!
MES kindergarten students are on Unit 3 in Bridges Math. In Unit 3, students count by 2's, explore even numbers as doubles, and write equations to show sums up to five.
Congratulations to the students pictured below for qualifying to audition for the All-State Band in December. The students who make it in the All-State Band will perform at the State Conference MMEA (Missouri Music Educators Association) in January!
What was your favorite art project when you were in school? MMS Art students created dramatic multicolored paintings using neon colors. Some students even made glow-in-the-dark shirts. The Digital Photo students used black light to create mesmerizing images using iPads. 🖌📱

Mrs. Sanders enjoys taking photos, attending her daughter's cheer competitions, and playing co-ed basketball and softball. She also loves to spend time with her husband and daughter. Students at MIS gathered around the flag pole this morning in the company of VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) personnel. They presented the colors and raised the flag.
Our wonderful MES students made special cards and letters for our Veterans. These cards were delivered to the Veterans Home in Mount Vernon.
Our MHS art students showed their appreciation for our Veterans by creating handmade ceramic poppy flowers. They made 30 ceramic poppy flowers and gave them to VFW in Monett. They also painted a window mural for the annual MHS tradition of the Veterans Day Window Mural at MHS.
Today, we honor our Veterans. Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸
Students at MMS participated in a Red Ribbon themed Escape Room. The students had a blast, and yes, they all made it out!

STUCO students attended the Student Council Southwest District meeting. Their guest speaker was Aric Jackson, a youth motivational speaker. Abby Apostol and her group won the prize and opportunity to bring Aric Jackson to speak to our students for free! 👏😁🎤
Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Allen's class learned how to use fraction strips, money pieces, and clocks to solve word problems in math.

Congratulations to Jacob Hughs for being selected into the All-National Orchestra! To audition, students must first make into the All-State Band and then audition against the top players from all 50 states. This is a great honor! We are super proud of you, Jacob!
MES had their hearing and vision screenings last week. We had over 200 students sign up for this FREE service! If a student did not receive a clear result during the screening last week, they will be rescreened on November 29 & 30.
The Monett High School Theatre Dept. invites you to "Be Our Guest" November 12 and 13 at 7 pm and November 14 at 3 pm. Students from both Monett High School and Middle School have worked so hard to prepare this show.
